Been twice in trainings now. The training ground (which is the same as the biggest stadion in the village) impresses you visually, with a couple of thousand rain covered seats surrounding. There is no lack of natural light during day time, but when the trainings start at 9 pm the pitch is lighted with proper powerful stadion lights.
Also the players do impress me with their technical skills as also the amount of them. When I went to my first trainings last week, there were 6 other new guys also wanting to join the team. All in all there have been about 30 'jugadors' in both trainings and the intensity have been quite high.
It seems nice, but, but and but. The ground, 'el suelo', is artificial and one of the worst that I have played in. Can not even do proper tackles, so my year in England is no use in here ;)
Well, I do not aim to take it that seriously here, just beeing happy that they let me take part and for the first time I can see the connection between chess and football. Meaning that when even the defenders are equipped with a fabulous technic and not even the ground gives you false bounces the game actually reminds you a bit of chess.
I do not know where Santiago Apostol is standing in the league, but they seem to have somekind of problems with their couch, cause they have just sacked him, and yesterday there was a new guy and the trainings were delayed by more than an hour... spanish timing :)
But all in all, playing football outside in the middle of an October night, wearing only T-shirt and shorts, without feeling cold is quite nice, isn't it?
